My dear
daugther Lovis.
It is not my turn to write
but I guess it dont matter It sure seemes long since I had a letter from you I
just now read the last letter I have recived from you and it was dated Dec
27—1923 I know you have wrote since then and probably your letter got lost I
did not go to Church to day it is just awful cold weather here now and this
cold weather seeme to make me awful tired. Arthur and I went to town last
thursday I nearly froze to death on my way home it snowed and blowed untill we
cold not see to guide the horses the[y] had to find their way home themselves
and the horses are sure some true and gentle horses that we got now. While I was in town I called to the
journal Office and got thoose News papers you asked me to get and send to you
and I mailed them last Friday afternoon I also wwent upp to the Photografer and
got the graduate Picture of your Lewiston graduates and of yourself to my is is
a very poor picture and I told him to he
charged me 75 more cents and so I paid it I vont mail it untill I hear from you
he gave me two picture one with a kind of a folder around and onother more like
a proof and to my notion it is not worth postage but I will do just as you say.
I would sure like to go to Malad for Graces birthday Jan 11th but I
dont think I can I been depending on what Joe promised us but it has not come
for this mounth either and he told me it should begin comming in December but
we have failed so far to recive it I guess Joe have changed his mind.
Well I
think I shall send the pillows and the quilt to you some day this comming week
I think I shall wait and send it untill I first hear from you and then I will
send a note to tell you when I send it so you will know when to expeckt it. I
had a good manny more things to write about but your Dad and Abie is having
such a fuss about chopping the trees down I can not hear myself think so I will
close with love to Floyd & to yourself and write more the next time it is
my bed time I hope you are well & doubly happy
so
long as always & ever
your
Mother Caroline J. Peterson
P.S. I wonder if you have heard how Floyds sister is I
hope she is all well by now.
[On back of
envelope:] I just recived a letter from you while I was in town I will
write when I get an answer to a letter I mailed to you in the Logan P.O. this
afternoon Thanks for the Papers.
