Dearest Lovis
your Dad and Arthur went upp
to meeting ½ hour ago and I am home alone it is 8 p m I have bread to bake so I
could not go and I dont care much to go out in the dark nigths anyway Sister
Ormond came down this morning and she stayed quite a while so I got hindered
from mixing the dough and that is why I am baking bread now.
Your
letter written Feb 21 was recived this afternoon and we are all so glad to hear
from you when Arthur goes out for the mail and theere is a letter from you he
puts it inside his sweater next to his hart and squrveses [?] it and jumps and
smiles and when he comes in the house he says, No letter to day Grandma but I
know better because I always watches so I can see what he is doing. I dont get
cross but I let him have his fun I know he gives me the mail after he kept it
by his hart for a while.
Your Dad
sure got lots of kick about your glasses he lauphed and lauphed and I vont tell
you all he said but he said year I told Lovis thoose big dark bull boards were
all Vendelbog [or Wendelbog] monkey talk and all the Drs talk to suit themselfs
and so to make monny and fooling people who belive in them got to keep them.
Well sometimes it looks as if it is true. I feel sorry you have such a bad
headache and I hope you will find out the real cause for it and get some thing
that will help you, What does astigmatism mean? I guess you been some place
were [where] it’s been a lot of fleas and you catched them or the[y] catched
you it is sure a joke on you cats and fleas, ha ha.
I like the
cloth you got for your dress inspecial the checked it will be a change for you
from black and blue. you asked me about a dress and I forgot to tell you last
time I wrote Well now I shall tell you in the best way I can, last fall when I
came home from you and Grace came home she saw how my black dress was wearing
out and I told her I was going to have the knitting facktory masure [measure]
me and make a jersey dress like yours for me when I saved up some monny! and so
Grace said she had a new jersey dress she sell me for $10 she had paid some
over $20 for it but I dont know now why she dont wants it herself.
Well I told Grace No I dont want
her to sell a dress to me and loose monny on it but for her to keep it Well
nothing more was said untill x mas when the x mas box came from Grace theere
was not one salatory thing in it for me so fineley here came a letter from
Grace saying she did not send my x mas present altho she had it and I had to
come and get it Well time went on and I did not get to go to Malad but a few
weeks after x mas Frank went up to Malad on buisness and when he came back he
told me Grace was going to give me that jersey dress but she thaugth it migth
had to be either taken in or out in some seams and thats why she did not send
it well I do or hope it will fit me but I dont know when I will have a change
[chance] to go to Malad I got a letter from Grace last Sarturday the first one
for 3 weeks and she said Gust and the children had the flu and been very sick
but was getting better
Mrs Christenson been helping
Grace untill she took sick and Grace said that half of Malad were sick with flu
but she was well yet but was all give out from being upp at nights and worked
in the day. Well theere is always something it seemes like. I hope that Grace vont
get the flu if she does it will go hard with her but I pary that the Lord will
be merciful unto us all.
soo the dear little Jap girl
dies she is happt ot be back to her heavenly home but I feel sorry for her
parents, the bread is baked and it is time for the meeting to be out so I shall
not write more to nigth and get ready for bed, I had a camocal [comical] dream
last nigth about you & Floyd and myself, I feel glad in the mornings when I
have dreamed about you, the dreams seemes so real it almost makes me think it
is true. Goodnigth Dearies.
