My dear baby Louis
If this
paper were full with only the word Thanks it could not be enouph thanks to you
for the lovely skirt and sweater coat I recived from you last Thursday Grace
came from Malad a few hours after it came and I put it on me to show her what
you sent me in the mail that day and O she got glad with & for me both
articles just fit me fine A thousand times thanks to you and all who had a hand
in it. I wonder how you all are as we did not hear from you all last week well
in the shape of a letter I mean
Grace and
the children and one of Grace’s store girls came down for Decoration Day and
stayed for 2 Days and ½ and when back to Malad yesterday at 4 p m we had a good
visit togather I had any way Grace helped me so much with the work and
yesterday we cooked a swell dinner F.O. and family was here with us to eat and
visit Annie stayed all day Grace went in for Annie and the children, F.O. had
to work but came out for dinner, and then after work F.O. came we had supper
here. they stayed untill 9 30 p m, F.O. overhauled Graces car before she
started out and last nigth F.O. called Malad up to see if Grace got home
alrigth and she said yeas she got home all O.K.
All the
children and ourselfes are all well the kids played in the sand pile and then
in the grass, the had 3 kittens and one dog that the feed and watched eating
and drinking milk and the mallied [mauled]
them around untill it is a wonder the lifes are spared to day, mebe the dog is
deat to day, I dont know Darold he took it home it was Louises dog but he gave
it to Darold it was a cute little white curley dog but it bit Shirly so she
cried and Annie said the better get rid of it.
I will enclose
a letter that we got from Arthur last Sarturday so you can better see what he
says then if I just wrote and told it to you, Now I hope if he come to see you
that he will leave you with a good feeling and not cause any troubble and as
you know him you can watch and be vise and kind to the poor way ward boy of
aurs or mine, I have wrote to him this morning. he must be sick as his addrass
says Casual.
Grace and I
went upp to the cemetery on Decoration Day and we bougth Snowballs for to
decorate our dear and loved ones graves we did not stay very long upp theere
because it was awfully storm weather, the weather was fine yesterday and is
finer to day. N. Logans Children are all having the measles I dont think theere
is a home now that have not got it it have spread so rapidly, Verna is getting
over the measles now. Luther Wurstin is very sick with the measles to day his
father been upp here all morning helping your Dad sharpening the knifes for the
mower mashine as the hay down around here is ready to cut, I been out hoeing in
the garden stuff is all upp fine now. We have only got a small garden this
year, I got 20 little pullets and 6 more hens a setting so you see I have a few
jobs to do and it sure good I have them and are able to do them.
I dont
belive I have time to write any more to day as it is now 2 30 p m and I want
this letter to go with the mail carier when he comes so I will close but before
I close I will again thank you my dears for the very nice sweater coast and
skirt and for everything else
