My dear Lovis,

Tomorrow is the day of the week I generally write to you but I don’t think I will be home tomorrow so I shall write to you this morning. We recived your wonderful letter of Aug 22nd last Monday and we are thankful to hear your ear or ears are practically well and that you are strong enough to walk 20 blocks in one day and do other work besides.

Arthur got back from Bannock last night at 12. I been to bed for 3 hours when we heard him come a singing down by the brige. He fetched my Never fail stove back and it is good yet and I am glad of it so I can make my pickles and other stuff out in the summer kitchen.

I am rather tired today your Dad have not been able to do the schoers [chores] only milked since he came back from Malad so I been doing the schoers beside putting upp tomatoes and I made the last of my jelly yesterday and cleaned out the summer kitchen before we moved the stove in it.

it is too bad about Israelsons baby are slow in getting better, Madaline McKinnie is still cauping [coughing] and whooping and it is now 6 weeks since thoose children took down with the whooping cauph [cough]. I dont hear much about the rest of the children in the Ward how they are grow.

Mrs. Maxsell and Howard McKinnes Father is getting married today in Salt Lake Temple she is to be sealed to Maxsell and married to McKinnie for this time only. I am glad the Bishop gave her recommend to go into the Temple because that what she have exspreased [expressed] herself she would like to get her endowment and be sealed to Maxsell. the Logan Temple is closed for cleaning & repairing.

Vilate Nyman is home to her Parents she is sick been or was confined last Sunday morning and a fine boy was born unto them. I think I shall run over and see her some afternoon. I like to see newborn babyes.

You asked what Joe Swenson died from. he had the cancer of the liver he been ailing for a long time and he suffered everything before he died. I see you will or have company. I hope I can find time to go and see and talk to thoose girls who have seen you since I saw you.

I am so thankful to hear you remember to ask the blessings on your food and to pray to your Heavenly Father and draw near unto Him and it will draw you as man & wife closer together with love ever lasting and the Lord will draw near unto you with His blessings.

I thank you for the invatation to come in and eat with you. I wish I could you need not think I don’t have my wishes but as it is now I must sacrifice a good manny things I desire and be thankful if we all can have our health and strength and what we need to eat and wear. It won’t do any good for a cyclone to come and take me to you it would only be my spirit that could come and that would make it worse than it is now.

I will now close with a big lot of love and asking you to remember us in your prayers. if you see Joe tell him hello for me. I like for you to write and tell me a little more about yourselfs. is there any fruit in the backyard where you now live. ha. ha. Got busy now and pick it.

So long with Love Love Love.

From your Mother Caroline J. Peterson.

Gladys Nyman told me to tell you hello and she would be glad to hear from you.
