My dear Baby Wisaly [sic]
To day is
the day in or off the week I generally write to you so you will hear from us on
Sarturdays. It is 1 30 p m we have had our dinner early to day as your Dad
wanted to go upp on the 10 acres to cut lusern [sic] I dont know if he can make it or not as theere is a big wind
brewing upp.
Your letter
written June 5th was recived last Monday and I think this is the
third time I have written to you since June 5th. We were sure glad
to hear you was well and that you had talked to Arthur over the Phone I am now
worreing he will cause you trouble and bring on you shame and dissgrace by his
actions. We wonder greatly any way how he is and what he is doing but we pray
and hope he is well and is making upp his mind to be a good boy it sure seems
funny here without him I dare not let myself to deeply think he so young and be
so far away from home. Oh dear. I got a lot off things to writ to you
about this time so I will try to leave Arthur off my mind or else I will miss
the mailman this afternoon. We send the monny to Joe yesterday for his ticket
he said he migth get his leave on the 20th I understand he is going
by Frisco before he comes here. Prof Israelson and vife & family been here
to see us and sister Israelson said that you and Joe intends to come home to
gather. Is that so Lovis plaese tell me. Myra
called here last evening she was out for a ride and she said she is going to Berkeley June 21 in
company with a Mrs Mc Glauphen. Mrs Henderson have sent word to me by sister
King she wants to see me as she got a whoole lot to tell me, so mebe so I
better go and hear what it is.
I heard
from Grace yesterday for the first time since she left she is a very buissy
woman as the Bakery buisness is good now Grace mentioned about when she was
home that you had sent a dress to Irene but she said if Lovis have sent it I
guess it is lost I told Grace to wänta lite you would soon write and say
something so when you mentions about the dress and Grace I thaugth about my old
saying I wonder what you will think when I tell you that I have not done very
little to my house I have not felt very well if I tell the thruth I got the
Rheumatism in my body and it effekts my knees & legs the most yesterday I
got so bad I had to ly down for a couple of hours and then the pain got better
and I was able to go out and tend the chickens and weed in the garden and water
the tomatoes & cucumbers It looks as we will have a very poor garden this
year we never had such scrubby looking tomatoes for years as we have now theere
is worms that eats the leafs I have sprinkled wood ashes on them to kill the
worms. I am afraid I must close the mailman is by Nymans but I must tell you
that Vera had a shower on Vanda last Friday and not one of the Nelsons or
Nymans came to it, Rose is very hateful about it but Willie is not he got more
since and not so much pride, it is lots the best for Parents to make the best
of it when the children dont obey their wishes.
Theere is
still a lot off children sick here in our ward with the measels, and sister
Ormond is still sick in bed. Myrtle came home and she is taking care of sister
Ormond, as both Etties and Susies got sick children. Well how is Floyd he is so
quite, when is the time for him to go to the training Camp. tell him hello, and
that I got so manny compliments for him that it would take me 3 hours to repeat
them.
so long you both my babys with Love and best wishes
your Mother
