My dear daugther Lovis, It is Friday evening 8 p m I am
as usual home alone Abie is to a M N Banquet down to Obie Larsons I am here so
much alone and that gives me a change [chance] to think of a lot of things but
to nigth I shall stop thinking and go to work and write to you. if I remember
rigth I have rec two letters from you and then a few lines to the end of your
Dads letter but I think you got a letter
from me last Monday. I am sure glad over to know and to see that you my near
and dear ones thinks of me and takes time to write to me, and to pray for me as
theere comes strength from the Lord through prayer.
It is
sure great to hear that you are feeling better I am thankful for it as I been
much worried over your weak condition of health. We are well and are getting
along alrigth We had a cold nigth last nigth and theere is going to be another
cold nigth to nigth, we have had fairly good weather for the last two weeks I
call it fair when our windows are clear from ice but they are covered with ice
already this evening. I am not cold or very lonesome either and I am not at all
nerveous to be alone. It is wonderful what a person can do when you got to or
have to.
I am
glad you like the place you have moved into I think I could find the place
without asking anyone and I can find Grace to. you asks if the dress you sent fits
me the neck is perfect and the length to the sleeves is about 4 inches to
short, and it is a little narrow around my belly. I am ashamed of
telling you this but you told me to answer you thrutfully [truthfully] and now
I have, but dear Lovis you are doing to much for me and for us so now take a
rest and do things for yourself what’s happen have the land Lady changed her
mind about you having Irene to come mebe she charge extra well if she have Grace
will make it rigth as Irens is in the best care by you.
I see
you and nearly all the family been to City well well was it the first time
Grace been on the fairey and if it was I like to have seen her I bet she tittabrunt
[?]. ha ha tell me if she did when you write. last Sunday after meeting Lettie
Israelson called her and the Follets children and her br and sister was out
cutter and sleighriding the[y] stayed here for an hour Lettie said her Dad have
had an furnace put in their house as it was to cold without it, and in the
evening Phyllis Wilhelm and one of the sister Pearts girls came to see me and
they stayed untill 9 30.
you did
not say if it was larigth for me not to give Mrs Bowman your address I wonder
if you have heard anything of them. yeas I knew it was Graces birthday last
Sunday every Sunday during this Mounth theere is a birthday for someone in our
family on the 1st Sunday it was Louises, second Graces, third F.O.s
and the 4th was baby brother Edwards birthday.
Well it
is now time for me to hike of[f] to bed and cover my head. I migth write a few
more lines before I close but so long with love & x & hug for to nigth
its 9 15 p m
Sarturday
1 45 p m. I guess you will think that I keep good track of the time well I can
not help it as the clock is my companion and company. I have nothing else to
write about for this time only if you plaese will tell your Dad that I have
sent word to Clarence by his Dad and when I get word from them then I shall
answer his letter I suppose you read the clipping your Dad sent me I wonder if
it can be true that they have found oil at Arbon I dare not believe it
as it is to good to be true. if you read each others letters then you will
knows all I think, says, or do so theere is nothing sacred about me, give my
best wishes and love to all and to yourself form your Mother C. J. Peterson.
the sun is shining in through the window for a change.
