Dearest Lovis,

I wonder how you are and wheere you keeping yourself since the school closed.

I have recived your letter wich you wrote while in a Cafeteria at San Fransisco in Company with Myra Nelson. I was glad to hear from you. You stated you come here the first of this week but the first of the week is now passed and I suppose you have changed your mind to not come so I shall write a few lines to you this morning.

I guess you saw Joe on his return and he would tell you all about us or else I would of wrote to you sooner. I send that dress back the same day Joe left Logan and I hope it did not caused you to much trouble to bring it back to Oakland. It sure was a beutiful dress, yeas to beutiful for me and to exspensive for me, but I thank you all the same for your beswar [a Swedish word but I couldn’t find a translation for it].

Grace is still with us she has stayed longer then she expeckted . . .  [she] been buissy every Minute since she come doing up work such as Iron and washing and sew and so forth that had been undone for some time. I feel sure thankful for all she have now again helped me to do.

Mebe we will hear from you to day. I will now close with much love we are as ever.

your Mother Caroline J. Peterson
