Dearest Grace I am now afraid that I or we have offended you
folks and are sore at me or us and I feel
rigth sorry I can assure you that I have not intended to say or do
anything to make you sore We got a letter from Lovis this afternoon but I could
not even see the word Hello from you and I could not help but cry thinking you
must be very sore at us
I know you
are a very buisy woman & I am a very selfish and jalious Mother. I can not
remember if I have answered your last letter or not but I think I have I belive
I wrote last Monday fornoon to you, to Lovis, and to Joe, However it now is I
want to talk to you to nigth in the best way I can First I hope you are all
well and second that your buisness is good and that theere is nothing to
disscourige you what ever. Your Dad do not feel very good to nigth I guess he
have got cold as we have had a big and cold snowstorm here all this week but
last Monday and it been a little clearer to day but Oh so cold the ground is
frozen hard and everything else. Annie is still on her feet I went to see her
last Wednesday F.O. and the children are fine.
We have leased out the 80 acres for
the next 5 years to an oil company the Sorensons have leased 1600 acres, the
Company Are allowed to lease 10 miles of land if the owners give them the least
and as the company do not hurt the land any the farmers can raise crop on it an
way this company is going to start digging for oil nesct spring or as soon as
the weather permits, that Company that is drilling in North Arbon is still drilling
and theere is a good prospeckts for oil, this new Company have leased land from
McClaries lane and way down to the south end of Hoolbrok, the old company who
been and is drilling have all the land leased from McClaries land and all the
north and as theere is such good prospeckts of oil on the north the think that
theere is oil farther south and that is why they are around leasing land Well I
hope theere is something to it and if we should happen to get hold of some
monny I shall come to see you if you live in Calif and I live in this world by
that time.
It is moonligth to nigth and I got
to go and take in the Washing It been out since Wednesday forenoon but have not
got dry be fore on the account of it being so stormy weather but I think they
are dry now.
Well the Election is over now again
for the nesct four years and the Republic got the say so, but somehow the
Guvener for Utah lost out you know his name
was Mabee the New Guveners names is Daren and he is a Salt Lake
Well as for such as Pa and I it
matter not whos party vins we just got to take it as we get it, I guess we will
get along tho if we keep well.

My dear Pet Grace is is now 1 p m and I shall now write a
little more, I am ashamed of sending this letter on the account of this big
blotch but as I want to write a letter to Lovis before the mailman comes or
else I would copy it, last evening just as I was getting up from the table
Arthur gave the ink bottle a push and
over it went but I hope you will exuse me for sending you such dirty letter. I
wonder how you all are to day we are all up and around, and if you can belive
me or not I never gets time to do any sitting down work only when I write I
donts even sit down when I eat I rather stand up so I vont need to get up from
the table to wait on the men, Mebe I will hear from you this afternoon and if I
do I shall write again nesct Monday as I had or have lots of more to write
about bit I can not remember if now but as I am thinking about you all the time
I know it will come to my memmory by that time. tell Gust hello and tell him I
have for warded a letter to him to day that came in our box yesterday. Did the
children recived the halloween card I sent them? so long my dear one with lots
