Dearest Lovis
I know you
will be expecting to hear from me by the time you get this letter We recived your letter of Jan 17 last
Sarturday and we were all so glad to get it we are sorry Floyd dont feel very
well but it seems as we all got to have our turns in this world to be sick I am
glad you feel better and I hope you both will have health and strength so you
can enjoy life We are now having an awful cold spell here again I know if must
of been 20 a 24 below zero here last nigth and this morning it is as clear in
the sky as a crystal and the Sun is Shining in through the south windows but
the icesicles is hanging to the roof and the snow is glittering like new
silver.
I am sorry
you could not respond and do your part in the church last evening I belive you
could if you had prayed to your Heavenly Father to bless you with the strength
and with His holy spirit you got the launguege alrigth and so with this above
you would be able to give a good sermon wich I know would of been a benefit to
some one and to your self mostly. I realize that it was not an easy job for you
to get the Relif Sosity Reports in a good shape inspecial when you had not had
it in your charge from the beginning of the year I see you are looking for your
pillows & the quilt well they will soon be on their way to you I have had
them done for last 3 weeks, and as soon as I can handle the meat I will send
you some it is now as froze as a rock, you will find the meat is no meat it is
all fat this last pig got to fat but it will be good for lard so when you get
it and look at it and tryes it you will better know what to do with it and lard
will keep. we dont send you any thing for you to feel that you are owing us
anything we only wish we had things to send you rigth along.
I sure
apricate thoose good advice of Floyds to Arthur it is really a shame that
Arthurs caracktar [character] and looks do not corespond, I do not know now how
true it is but Arthur says he is asigned by the National Home Guard to leave
here Feb 15 for Fort Sill to attend some school I hate to have him go but I
guess he will have to do what he wants untill the time comes when he has
learned to obey good advise. he is sure a load of care now
I am so
tired at times it makes me feel sick. I dont think I can leave home and go to
Malad or any were else. I see you are getting the Logan News before we do I did
not knew about Mrs Fagelberg dying untill you wrote and told me, Mr Birdnae the
Agent and ticket seller at the inturban station was buried yesterday. he died
from Pheumonia was sick only 3 days.
I see you
got little kittens now to keep you buissy were do you do with them when you go
out? Arthur he is well now and your Dad is usual and I am alrigth I guess only
my head do not feel rational in this cold weather.
F.O. and
his son Louis was out here yesterday morning to see us being the first time
they been out here on this New Year F.O. have had such a time he ran a sliver
into the thick part of his left hand and it got bad he had Dr Eliason to get
the sliver out but the Dr did not get it all out so it festered and bursted
over & over it looked better yesterday and Pa helped FO to pick at the sore
and behold Pa got I hope the last pis [piece] of the sliver out.
I had a lot
of more things on my mind to write about when I begun this letter but as the
mailman is at Maughns I must close
so
long with much love
your
Mother
Caroline
