My baby dear How are you to day. I can not remember if it
is my turn to write ot you or not but be it as it is I shall write ot you to
day anyway. It is now 1 30 p m we have been a very buissy family here this
forenoon your Dad and Abie have filled a
pig, and I have got all the bed clothes out for airing and I have done a
regular housecleaning in the bedroom I
thaugth it was best for me to do this while it is good weather.
We
recived the Chronicle last Friday and it is welcome its time it comes as it is
so much interesting reading in it. Your Dad had almost made up his mind to
leave the last of this week for Calif but as Gorge Hopkin is back and is around
he dont like to leave untill he sees how it turns out With the boys Officers
migth get them at anytime. Abie is down to the coal yard now getting two tons
of coal for us he got Jim Maughans team to haul it with.
It is
drawing near the time when Arthur suppose to return the Armie [Army] clothes
and some how the envelope that had they account of the clothes and rigth in it
so he could send it free of charge have been misslaid or lost and I have searched
high and low but I can not find it Abie says he saw me put it in a bood, and so
if you plaese will exuse me I will ask you to look in the book or books you got
with you when you left I migth accidently
have put it in one of them as I think one of the books I heard you say
you like to take was laying on the table in this little frontroom it had red
covers on, mebe you can recoleckt seeing it some wheres around here or saw
where I put it so if you plaese will answer on this on the return mail Arthur
got disschared Sept 8—1924 and the clothes suppose to be returned within 3
months after so it is about time they should be returned if we can not find
that paper we got to pay it ourselfs for sending them back
I know I
wrote to Grace and asked her if Pa should go to Calif for her to say or what
she wanted him to take with him as he can easely take some of his ticket you
know like I did when I went home last fall, it vont take Pa long to get ready
after he finds out about the boys so if you will tell Grace to write and tell
us about it so he will know what she wants if he should go or can get away from
her
I hope
you are all well , I did not go to church yesterday as I was to tired to get
myself ready mebe I will go to nigth but mebe by the time I get the bed clothes
brushed and shaken and caried in I will be to tired again. I feel pretty good
only nerveous I dont get any sleep of nigths as your Dad keeps a cauphing &
groaning. mebe I or we will hear from Berkeley this afternoon if it was not for
yours and Graces letters I could not live so theere now you know what your
letter are worth to me.
Well now
if it freezes up and your Dad backs out of going I want to send you girls &
boys a chicken or two and some lard and flask so I want to ask you if you will pay
the express tell Grace about it and see what she says, count it out and see if
it pays I am ashamed to not pay the charge but since our pay days stopped we
can not pay any thing. I guess this is all for this time it is now 2 20 p m.
your Dad just called out and said he like some coffee, exuse me for writing
with a pencil but when I use the ink pen my hand and fingers goes to sleep and
I got to stop every few minutes to rub my hand and when I use the pencil I can
go rigth along, I can not figure out what can make the differents.
Give my
love and best wishes to all and exept a bushel for yourself from your old and
uggly Ma C.J. Peterson.
