My dearest
Daugther Lou
I got or had a lot of things
to write to you but I can feel I vont remember much. I hope you are as well and
happy as you can be, I sure got gladly surprised when I recived your last
letter as I did not expeckt one that day I am sorry you had your eye hurt it
seemes as if the devil is always after you fleece or no fleece I think you
better pray to the Lord on bended knees both morning & nigth and ask Him to
proteckt you from harm & danger and to bless you with His holy Spirit and
with the presnt of mind so you can think where you go and are. and before I now
think of it you better tell the grannies to plases not visit you quite so often
it is a sign of weakness and it dont give you time to get your strength between
time. It was sure a fine afair the
Bazar I mean when you could get that much monny I guess you worked to hard and
got to angsitied [?] over it.
I did
not go to church yesterday I did not feel well I had two of them funny give out
spells last week and I took pains in and between my shoulders It was hard for
me to life my arms I feel some better to day I am set ack with my work
considerable on the acount of it I got this tablet on my knee now a writting
because I can not life my arms high enouph to write on the table I think it has
come by me lifting the pitchfork full of hay and getting cold in the mornings
when I have thaugth I save your Dad from going out to early Arthur been doing
shoers [chores] since he came mostly he can do a lot of work he is down to pea
facktory now getting pea silo for us to feed the cows.
We will
send a small box next Wednesday to you by express and next friday your Dad and
I will send a very small parsels to Floyd and you by mail if you are home at
mailman time next Monday kind a watch for him it is so small it migth get
stolen if the mailman leaves it at open sigth on your front porch. I think it
will come ot you next Monday when I mail it next friday I could wait and mail
it sarturday but I guess the mail is vey buissy at this time a year. I know you
are getting lots of kicks out of my letters and I dont wonder at it
because I write broken the same as when I talk I know one word I wrote that was
not rigth and I should have known better I said the weather had matured when I
should have said moderate.
I was
wondering yesterday if Joe was with you and if you went to church last nigth.
I got a
letter form Grace last sarturday asking me to be sure to come to Malad for x
mas she says she knows I can come if I want to but I dont know now if F.O. goes
up in his car I can go with him I know he will soon go up theere on buisness.
your Dad is no worse he is alrigth or else he would go and see a Dr or try to
let anybody do something for him or take advise from somebody he vont even let
me rub his chest with that good mustard save [salve], I belive Gust will send
him some medicine for x mas. I hope he can or will. I dont belive I will now be
able to get the quilt down and ready to send so you would get it before x mas
since I took all that pain I got two more rows across the quilt left to do and
I must go to town a teim or two before x mas and the time goes to fast and it
is so dark and drarie [dreary] I dont get time to do much I will close with a
lot of love tell Floyd hello the mailman is a proching [approaching] so must
close so long with Love

Mother
