05-26-1924 Obie Roskelley to CJ Peterson

[This letter was enclosed in C.J. Peterson’s letter of 2 June 1924 to L.C. White. Written by Caroline’s grandson, Arthur Roskelley (Obie), only 16 ½ years old.]

My Dearest Folks at home

will I have joined the Army so I suppose I will not see you for a wile not until next summer Then I will come home on a forelo [furlough]. Grandma they are going to send me to San Francisco Perciedo [Presidio] will be out side of the town. so please wright to aunt Louise and tell her to be on the look out for me oh wont it be fine

I can see aunt Loiuse every Sunday

I wonder if you will be mad at me because I joined the army I want you to do one thing that is keep my age mum I am 21 born October 26 1902 if any body asks you. dont forget to tell aunt Louise what I said and will close your son Arthur
