Dearest Lovi I wrote and mailed a letter to you yesterday
but as this is the day of the week I generally write to you so I shall write
about what’s been on my mind, Well first I Hope I will hear from you to day so
I will know how you are and what effeckts the fire had on you.
I hope
you do not trust yourself in a Dr who you do not know and when you do not think
you will come home now why I rather you wait and come in the spring the time
will soon pass and if we dont get to see one another this fall we will pray to
see each other in the spring 1924.
Dearest
Lovis be very careful in all things and always pray to the Lord to be with you
and yours to protect you from all harm and danger and lead and guide you
aright. I am home all sole alone, both day and nigth F.O comes morning and
nigth to milk his black cow if it was not for her I could milk them all, we got
72 bushells of wheat for our share from our land F.O. took charge of it and
hauled it home with our team and wagon. We got 3 big loads of straw comming to
us from it yet and your Dad will haul it when he get back from Arbon.
I heard
from F.G. yesterday him and Elvira arived all O K at Madera last Thursday nigth
at 10 p m. they had to stay over at Sacramento for a long time to wait for a
train that took them home F.G. says Elvira and Ressell are fine. (of course)
Now dear
Lovis you know how Grace is so dont you think you better thrust [trust] her
your secret she will sure find out that I know and if she asks me and I say I
dont know she vont belive me and I dont want my children to loose confidence in
me, Grace is well capable to keep a secret and keep it without lying about it
to.
I heard
from Joe yesterday he says he wants me to be in San Fransisco October the 13 he
will be theere then he wants to see he me ha ha the little dear Doodie I like
to see you all the time and have you all so I can see you every day of my life
but this is a world of separation and parting and not knowing when we part how
long untill or when we meet again.

Wilhelm did sure got the loveliest shower present their was no such as tins
given to her theere was silver and glassward and porceleen the Primary assasiation
[association] gave her a beautiful picture of the Saviour when he was 12 years
old it cost $4 50, and the Mutual gave her a set of silver ward, there was some
over 40 persons present refreshments were served, sandwiches, 2 kinds of cake,
pickles, peaches and cream, I would of enjoyed myself if I had not heard about
the fire at Berkeley.
I have
ordered 2 bushell of Peaches from Sadie Nyman at $1 25 a bushel so Will be
buissy next week putting them up. We have nice weather here now everybody is
cutting their third crop of alfifa we vont get a third crop the vivils
[weevils] and grasshoppers have destroyed it on the 10 acres and it has been an
awful scarsety of water in the upper canal every body is complaning.
Dearest
Lovis I am planning and planning but I dont get any place it is as impossible
as it was when I wrote to you for the first time so we better not plan on
seeing each other untill spring in as much as you can not come twice. you can
be thankful & contended you have a good and kind man I get so manny
compliments haveing such wonderful son in Law I am so happy because I know it
is true what the[y] say to me and I am so proud and conceited about it and I am
sure having the head now.
I have
finished copying that vision of Heber G. Hale this morning I want to send it to
Sophie Peterson Ogedn Utah and when I get this letter wrote then I shall scrub
and clean up I like to go to town to morrow and see about my märk duk and have it
handled in to Mrs Gorge Smith for the county fair and mebe I call on Nellie
Ceerum and also Myra.
I am
invited to Kemps this afternoon to a Pioner meeting but I am not going. I dont
like or want to go theere is quite a few people leaving Logan for Calif Robert
Hughes sister and family is gone and Cooney Stauffer and her br John left here
about two weeks ago for Calif Cooney is going to work in a store but I do not
know what place the[y] went to. this Miss Ellis I mentioned to you about in my
yesterdays letter said she saw you and she spoke to you and she said you looked
just fine she just got back from Calif she got surprised when I was your Mother
I like to have asked why she was so surprised but I did not I forgot all I
oculd think of was you and the fire and imagen I could see you did not risked
your lives and are burned and injured.
