since we read in the Chronicle about that big wind you had a week ago I am
wondering my head side ways wheere you two lovers where at the time and how you
are now. I guess the inhapbitants of Berkeley is beginning to think that the
Destroying Angels are sure buisy and it must off been an awfull stronig wind on
the bay when it broke 43 chains or horses on some boat by the Pier 37 at San
Fransisco, how long did you be without lights the Paper said Berkeley was in
the dark on the account of the poles and vires were blowed down. I hope we will
hear from you soon and that you are alrigth.
We had a
big wind here all last nigth and at 4 30 a m this morning it begin to hail it
sounded as if the roof was cracking to pisis [pieces] and this kept upp for two
hours then it get quite [quiet] and it begun to snow and it snowed untill 10 30
a m then it cleared up so now this evening it is clear and cold. I have sewed on the quilt all day to day so I
thaugth I finish it t0 morrow but Frank
is comming out to morrow at 11 a m to kill a pig so with some Sarturdays work
and watch the fire for the water the men need for the pig it will be all I have
time to do and if it is not to much for you to bother about and to much for me
to ask you to pay the express charge I shall send a small box to you and I
shall try this time to send it so you will have it x mas.
To day I
had planned I should go to town but the storm stopped me from going so I guess
I can not go and get the thicking before next Monday so mebe so it will take me
longer then you thaugth and I thaugth for you to get your pillows & quilt
hope you will excuse me for my name is Mres Caroline Slow Slowcum.
I have
recived a ltter from Sophie Peterson and she told me about her son David
getting married Nov 21st in Salt Lake Temple and that Leonard the
missionary is gone to Burlie Idaho to work for his halfbrother John in the
grain and see buisnes and Sophie apologized because she was to buissy to
entertain me when I was but I should worrie. Bishop Kemp read a letter for us
in meeting it was from Vanetta to all of us it was sure a nice letter I wonder
if Vanetta will be transferred over to Oakland Branch after the conference the
Mormons had in San Fransisco a week or two ago.
It is
Quarterly Conference for the Cache Stake to morrow and Sunday at Logan would
love to go but I know now I can not go to morrow I hope I can go next Sunday. I
guess this is all and I shall hike to bed your Dad feel some better he sure
enjoys reading the Chronicle we recived the Paper you sent us last Wednesday
and we thank you for it is sure interesting.
Now
Plaese answer me soon on this letter.
God
bless you and me and every body. So
long my lovies
