My dear Baby
Lovis
How are you to
day I would like to know but I hope you feel pretty good. Your letter was
recived last Sarturday and I was sure glad to hear form you I guess your plan
of moving is changed as you are plangent out bulbs and expeckts to enjoy to see
them bloom. I will be glad if you save and send me some flower seeds I am
gathering some cosmos seed and I will send you some of them every bodys fall
flowers have frozen around here but ours the cosmos is in full bloom yet and a
they are pretty I took a big bouque [bouquet] down for to give Shirly on her
birthday and one of these days I am going to see Sister Dalof and take some
flowers to put on Edlas grave.
We
had a big rain storm here last Sarturday it lasted for 18 hours Aruthur was out
in it all and he got wet through to the skin twice and came and changed clothes
he got exposed to a cold and doze of toothache, it was a cold rain, Arthur is
feeling better to day he is just now getting ready to go to the Depot to have
Gus and Graces things sent of[f] the Sun is shining warm to day through theese
windows you know were [where] I always sit when I write.
Did
you folks go to church last Sunday? Have you seen a Dr yet about your condition
and if you have what does he say? and what does Floyd think it be best for you
to do? exuse my many questions but you know I am angseous [anxious] to know you
be well. I am sure glad to, you got Grace living cloes to you it makes it nicer
then to have only strangers to talk to,
Now what do
you think about Mrs Arthurs letter shall I answer it or not? It is no use for
you to lok for a place for us as long as Neither you or Grace has a home of
your own the only thing of rus to do is that you comes to visit us and we in
turns go and visit you the main thing is that if we all can be well I guess we
must try to content ourselfs and stay were [where] we live and have our home,
Now you got your dear & kind husbaund, and Grace & Gust & the
children and Joe comes onece in a while to see you, and we got Frank and Annie,
Frank comes out real often last Sarturday he came out at 11 p m we were all to
bed so when he knocked I asked who was knocking he changed his voice and
answered and said it is Sister Palmer, I could not imagen what sister Palmer
came for that time a nigth I opened the door expeckting to see Sister Palmer
and it was F.O. comming to invite us down for dinner on Sunday as it was
Shirlys birthday and when he left he said goodnight Pa, Ma, and Abie and I
answered him and said goodnight Sister Palmer and you should seen his broad
smile on his face.
I will enclose
a clipping it is a story I like to ask you to read for Darold mebe after you
have read a part of it he will say for you he dont want to hear any more of it
then I guess it best for you to tell him it is just a story and it is not true.
that’s what I
had to do when I was telling him a story and I came to a ceartain place he
thaugth were sad he turned away from me and said I dont want to hear any more
of that then I had to change the story a little so the dear little
tender hart could stand to hear it. tell me when you write what he thinks of
this story Barbara’s Halloween Adventure. The flush pan is put Away so plaese try to think of
something else but that uggly pan, think about our nice chicken coop and the
big tree by the pantry window and the cows in the pasture. and so fort [forth]
& so on. We are the same as usual and I am trying to be good every day
I will close
now but plaese remember me to my baby Floyd I am as always your old Ma
C. J.
Peterson
I have written to Grace to day. tell
them Hello x the children for me. what is the matter with Irene.
