 My dear Daugther Louise

It is ½ hour untill our mailcarier will be here and I want to send a letter and a wish for you to have a Merry x mas to Floyd & You from this old Lady that is a wondering every hour how you are and what you are doing I dont know if I have answered your last letter or not but I can remember you said you were well and very buisy and that you are writting to us in your mind all the time well dear Lovis I belive you because I know I am doing the same if I should write all I say in my thougths to you and to Grace & Joe I needed help to write I could not do it along even if I sat and wrote all the time.

I am much behind with my sarturdays work today I went to town yesterday and I stayed much longer than I intended I went down to the Westfield to visit the Janson family I meet Ruby in the Postoffice last Tuesday and she cryed  when she told me about her Mother was so very ill and are not expected to live much more than a few days so I thougth I better go and see Mrs Janson I found her very lows she is done for I think she could not talk to me without an awful exertion so she said but very few words to me and I to her she had her eyes shut the most of the time and when I left she waved her hand at me just as I shut the door.

I got all the little x mas parsels mailed yesterday that was for California & Malad, & McGill, but I did not get the Ogden done to send because I wanted to go down to Jansons so I vont be served like I did when Mrs Johnnie Dick was sick I waited or put it of [off] to go and see her so when I got theere the crepe was hanging on the door and that thaugth me a lesson I dont want to forget. Your Dad feel much better He is down to the spur now getting a load of [???] silo, the weather here now is not as cold as it has been I keep the flowers in the window in the east room all nigth and the dont frrrze they are green and pretty but has no flowers on. I hate to tell you something but if I don’t I know someone else will. Rachel Meyrick got killid in an automobile accident last Wednesday nigth her and some more woman & men was going to a dance some where south of Logan and the car tipped over and killed Miss Meyrick instantly and one men from Salt Lake was fatally injured and died yesterday morning and the rest was more or less hurt but not serious is this not awful. this happened somewher around Millville This x mas will sure be a sad x mas for manny of our friends but sad times comes to us all sooner or later.

Frank and Annie is comming out next Monday for late diinner and spend x mas eve with us I belive they got date to go to Wellsville x mas day if the children are well and if it vont be to cold for to take them out. Shirly was not feeling very good yesterday when I was down theere they have had Pher down to see what could be the matter and he said Shirly had the yellow yanders and that that is going around in Logan and theere is a lot of little kiddies that has it now Shirly has not got it bad if she has it at all I have seen yellow yander cases and their skin is yellow and the white of their eyes are very yellow but Shirlys both eyes and skin is white only her face is kind of a pale and she looks peekie and has a little tempature. F.O.s finger is now nearly better but he has [???] a sliver in the soft side of his left hand and was not able to take it out himself so he had Pher to take it out and it was very sore yesterday he been having bread and milk poltice on it the nigth before last. always something Always something. And sometimes more than something.

FO is going up to Malad on the 26 on buisness and if he goes in his car he said I can go with him Grace wants me to come but if I can not go with Frank I can not go at all for I am broke now. ha ha everything around here is as usual nothing going on that is of interest to me I am thankful I am feeling pretty good not I must have the rheumatism in my body the pain I had in my shoulders is better but I got the same kind of pain in my knees but not very bad not. I was glad you been to church and heard Adam Bennion I like to been with you. Did you like the California Relif Sosity President as well as you do Clarissa Smith plaese do tell me when you write. Your Dad says to excuse him he will soon write and tell Floyd about those animal tests.

Old Lady Charlie Nyman is now up and around she feels weak but still she is doing her own housework I think it is sure remarkable that she got better. I meant to tell you in the note I wrote that theere was more cleaning to do on that chicken I sent and if you just cooked or fry the meat about half done it will keep longer but I forgot as I was listning to Ruby talking about her Mother Well dearees I will close wishing you a merry merry x mas so long with lots of love from your Mother Caroline J. Peterson.

I will send the Ogden parsel next Monday I am making an apron for Eva. I did not get it done on account of going to Jansons.
