Dearest Lovisa

It is now 1 30 p m I have thot all forenoon I should wait and write to you untill I hear from you but I have changed my mind so I shall write a few lines to day and not wait untill to morrow. I hope you are all well and are not to lone some since Grace and the family left Berkeley. I hae been very buissy thinking waiting and looking for them but I am afraid I have done all that all in vain, I got a letter from Grace yesterday and she said they were still in Madera in the evening off the Decoration Day Their trunk have come to Logan and we have got the notice from the friegth Offie so your Dad was going to get them this morning but it rained awful hard so he could not go but if it lets upp raining he will go this afternoon if not he must wait untill it clears upp.

What did you do on Decoration Day F.O. and family came out at 9 a m and we went upp on the cemetery I manage to gather upp enouph flowers for a good size bouquet for each grave, we stayed upp theere all forenoon they American Legion and the red cross and the Locals and Captains from the A.C.U. College and the National Guards had a very nice Program and Suprentendent Adam Bennion delivered a splendid Sermon I enjoyed it very much even if it was on the solemn place cemetery after the program was rendered we all went down to F.O.s F.O. went to work at 12 30 and I stayed all nigth and F.O. took me home on Sunday forenoon, Pa was not with us he had the water and had the watering to tend to

Last Sunday I dould not quitt looking down the road and on Monday to, and every car that came upp the road I thaugth it was Gust and Grace, and I kept this upp untill I heard from them I suppose they will either come when I dont look fo rhtme or else not come at all. your Dad is now getting ready to go to town he had borrowed a horse and a wagen from the poeple who lives in John Ashlimans pld place as he have sold our horse & bugge to for 15 dollars to Nephi Christenson so now I must hoof it to the 9th North when I need to go to town or any other place.

I will now close with much Love to Floyd and to yourself from your Mother Caroline J. Peterson.

FO. was on the cemetery 2 days before Decoration Day & he cut the grass on the lots and fixed them upp and so the looked respecktable as any ones upp theere, Thanks to our dear Joseph off old

x I shall write more when I heard from you. x o x o x o x o x o
