My dear sweet Baby Lovis How are you and

Last
evening or nigth rather as I had went to bed when F.O. came and told us Shirly
was sick and Annie wanted me to come so I got up and come and so now I am down
to Franks Shirley is not very sick Annie was expeckting for her to come down
with yellow yanders but if she is she have not got it now both Shirly and Louis
is sitting by me now a playing and telling me what to write to you Louis wanted
a purse and Shirly a looking glass.
I
am very much behind in writting to you but if you plaese will have patience
with me I shall try to catch up. I see I got your letter be4 the last letter
along I meant to answer both at the same time but I forgot the last letter home
I got nerveous when FO came and said Shirly was sick so I dod not even got an
apron with me. I guess Grace in her letter to you answered some of thoose
questions in my letter. Grace lives in the same yard as the Bakery only the
house and the bakery is about 3 rods apart Grace has 3 nice rooms and is fixed
up nicely they live rigth in the business block in the middle part of Preston
and in the same place as when Minnie was sick.
Irene
is fine and as pretty as ever only a little thinner since she was sick with the
yellow yanders, Irene was all well when I left and she was getting her apetite
back. Their business I think is better than it was in the beginning. Yeas they
have got their car painted. Darold is in the second grade and he is doing fine
in school. yeas FO’s car is a Buick, and yeas they live in the same place.
I
am so glad you seen Joe and that he apear the same to you, theere have come two
letters to Joe from Sidney the were addrassed to Joe in care of our full
addrass and I have forwarded them to San Fransisco you askes me how I feel now
I feel pretty good only I get tired to easely to but me I spoke to several to
give me a job in the apples and the promise to give me word but I have not got
any word and they are nearly through now so I guess no one wanted me in their
apples, you tell Floyd I do not particular need to go off to work only I am
greedy.
we
got two cows and one nice heafier the cows have give milk all summer but are
drying now one of the cows will come in at the beginning of Feb and the other
later the heafeir will come in during next summer I do not know just when. No
we dont get any crop this fall from Banock the land is summer folliting [?]
this summer I suppose P Sorenson will seed it this fall. I sent you a copy of a
pis in the Malad interprise about the Oil well at Arbon and last week theere
was another pis and I have copy it and are sending in this letter your Dad says
mebe theese men is just a talking to help to sell stock, well the time will
tell.
I
belive I got the pages off your two last letters mixed upp but the pages I
manage to get with me last nigth I have now answered all only about the
dieiting, your are lucky for not have to starve while dieiting but can have all
thoose nice things to eat that lessens your weigth, no Grace is not dieiting
but I heard her say she might as her leg is beginning to bother her now. I have
a few things marked down on a pis of paper so to help me to remember what to
write, so here it goes,
yeas
Lovis I find the lock of your hair It seemes as your hair will go gray early
like mine did I had a lot of gray hair at 28 years of age and now when I get
upp in the morning my hair looks all gray but my hair is coming out so I guess
I will soon be bald that will be worse than gray hair. Frank been hurt by
cranking a car at the garage the crank flue back and hit him above his left eye
and made a big hole so it was nessary to have seven stitches taken he had a
hard pain in his head at first but it is getting little better now every day.
about
two weeks ago—Delbert Ferguson and the inturban car at the Greenville spur and
Delberts car was thrown down in a big hole and got smashed all up but Delbert
escaped with only a few scratches the interurban car got of the track but run
untill it had knocked down 7 tellephone pole and at last when it stopped it
stood side ways none of the passengers hurt. you asked about Brigham and the
Peaches well the most of the Peach trees froze dead every where last winter
even our Birch tree froze and it is dead now. Our school teachers this year is
Newel Crokston Principle, Lewell Kemp, and a Lamb girl from Hyde Park, they are
having toilets put in the schoolhouse on the south side of your room.
Vera
let me read the book you gave her I enjoyed reading it, where do you bougth it
I like to buy one like it for Abie for his birthday. I am afraid I have wrote
too long a letter but I shall soon close X mas will now soon be here exuse me
if I ask you what you are sending Grace for x mas I like to give her a fruit
spoon like I gave you but as it is a different kind of silver to her set I like
to ask you to let me know the name and the number off Graces silver sets she is
beginning to get a start off. Annie got a nice fruit cake a baking in the oven
O it smells good when it is baked then we shall have coffee & cake I want
to go home this evening but the folks vont let me Shirly is feeling better and
they are all well so dont see any need of me staying here when I got a lot of
work home to do.
Our
taxes are so very high this year not only our but every bodys but I think we
shall be able to pay ours when Biship Kemp payes us well I guess theere is mail
for me at home this afternoon and if it any from you I shall answer it soon and
then your other letter. I forgot last evening, Annies sis Cora and her husband
is going to the Temple next Wednesday and be sealed as man and wife and have
all the children sealed to them I am to let them lend our clothes and as I have
3 suits I like to go if I can russell a ride in to town that early in the
morning, Vilda and Mahala works at Jensons confecktionari and they go by our
place at 8 10 am to work in their big car so mebe if I ask Emma I can go in
with them. Give my love to Floyd and thank him for his letter I get glad when I
see his writing.
so
long with all kinds of love from your Mother
Caroline J. Peterson
