County Hospital

Diego, Calif.
Dearest Aunt Louie,
Your
most welcome letter was received some time ago and tho it wasn’t answered right
away don’t think that it wasn’t appreciated. I have been so busy since
September first (the beginning of the fatal step) that to-day (which is my day
off) I am just beginning to breath again. We have four hours of Hospital duties
and four hours of class work every day at present. I certainly do like it.
So
little Elvira is speaking of being a nurse some day. How old is she by now.
What is her address? Bothe the children must be darlings. I do wish that I
could see them, and you, and aunt Grace and Grandma, and Verna, And every body
thats any relation to me.
Mother
is well. And always asks me if I have received any letters from you or grandma.
Mother is still working she likes her position so well that even when she was married
she wouldn’t give it up. Yes, she received your letters. She was so busy that I
answered her letter for her, when I wrote my first one to you. so now you see
you owe her one.
Did I
send you a picture of myself and mother if not tell me, and you shall have one
in my next letter.
We have
a day off from hospital duties once a week. And while we are probationers (4
month period) we don’t wear the cap, bib or cuffs. if accepted into the school
at the end of our 4 mo. time we are quite lucky indeed.
Must close with oceans of love
from.
Audrey. x x
