Dearest Baby Lovis
Yours so
welcome letter been recived last Tuesday I am very glad to hear you are feeling
stronger so you can get around like you are telling me you are, health and
strength is sure one of the greatest blessing and gift we can enjoy and own and
I am afraid we do not apriciate it untill we are deprived of it. We have nice
and sunny days here now but real cold nigths mud over our shoetops and in the
mornings the ground is froze so hard that it can bear up a horse. I am so
thankful to hear that you all attend to Church meetings and I do hope that
President Grant spoke with the insparation of the holy spirit the spirit of God
and so that all who heard him was benefited and left the meeting house feeling
well paid for the effort of going to hear him. I have not been to one meeting
since your Dad left as the minut I turn around to go theere comes company and I
feel it is not safe for me to leave the place, but I am contended in staying
home.
Arthur went
to fish this morning as soon as he got the morning chooers done so here I am
all alone as usual, I am not a bit nerveous being along so much wich is really
a surprise to myself, I keep myself buissy doing something all the time between
time I write and read I am making myself two nigthgowns now out of two white
skirts that Jennie gave me I got one of them done and it is a dandy gown and I
just got to sew buttenholes and buttens in the other one and then I will have
two everyday or nigth home made nigth gowns, next now I shall make ma a ½ dozen
nigthcaps, and then ½ doz chemises, ha ha ha.
It was to
bad you had so many mishaps last Friday I dont think that days has anything to
do with such happenings I think it is the person itselfs that is rather
nerveous at least I have found it so for myself, It was to bad you and Martins
had a quarrell, I am curious to know what the quarrell was about.
Do you ever
hear or see anything of the Arthurs? or the Bowmans?
I feel
rather tired to day as both Abie and I been out gadding both last Tuesday and
yesterday, last Tuesday I was invited down to Prof Isrealeons Mrs Israelson had
a party in honer of her Mother we had an enjoyable time and a very nice launch,
thoose present beside myself was, Emma Follett, sister alma Olson, Annie J.
King, Vanetta King, Miss Bayley, (Vanettas partner in the mission) and Leitha
King. And Abie wisited with Folletts boys across the street from Israelsons
while I was theere.
Yesterday
Abie and I went to town soon after dinner and I went to see Master Mina and Abie went to a show at the Capitol and we came home togather at 5 30 p m. I
get more tired going out like that then I do to stay home and work but I felt
like I wanted to go as the weather is so nice. Thanks ever so much for sending
me the paper Abie and I both enjoyed reading it we watched for some thing
underlined but could not find any There is still a lot of sickness here in our
Ward now the Drs runn by here like the were in an awfully hurry, and I do not
know for sure where the go to, the strokes sister Crokston had left her very
helpless. I been thinking of going up theere to see her but I have not find
time, and southeast from our corner theere is sickness and sorrow in every
house and mebe if I am well in the morning I shall go and visit them while the
ground is still froze.
theere has
been 4 babys born in N. Logan since last I
wrote to you, the stork left a 11 pound baby boy to Owin Bergeson, ha ha. a
girl to Francis Nelson, a girl to Spencer Crokston, a boy to Edgar Hopkin,
Edgar and his vife and family is living home by his Motgher.
I am glad
to hear you been apointed to teach the primary class in Sunday school as I know
you are well capable to teach them children things that will remain in their
young minds, I love children myself I love them more than my tounge can tell,
and it seemes as the children likes me to as sometimes if one child have an
errand form their mother to me that one half of the school children come down
here to. little Ray Maughn just to come in here to but he comes no more and I
miss him. Did he or was he in your room here at school? the day of the old
folks party I went in to your room in the school house but I did not stay in
there very long belive me as it reminded me of yeas you know as well as I do.
I guess I
better close as I like to write a few lines to your Dad and enclose it if you
plaese will hand it to him or see so he gets it mebe he is gone to Madera when
you get this letter so if you will mail it to him and the card to from Abie to.
