My on dear Lovis. I know ou think that I have nothing else to do but sit and write. It is now 6 45 p m or one hour and a half before I go out to milk and I dont care about taken out some patching to nigth so I shall spend the time in writting to you the reason why I dont milk earlier is that it is to cold ot go out to early in the morning so I do not milk before 9 a m. we dont have our letters come regular but sig sag and we write any old time be it nigth or day. it is alrigth to me just so it is not to long between the letters from you. I understand from your last letter that I must write about the same to you in the letters well my memory is sure getting punk I hope you will pardon me or rather bear with me it is liable to be worse yet.

I see the box got to Petaluma all O.K. I like to send boxes but I can not very often do what I like, I hemmed thoose distowles [dish towels] a purpose by hand but if you put them away then the purpose will be forgotten as you can not see me sitting a sewing but will forget all about my basting. I admit that the towles got rinkled upp and looked dirty and messie but the[y] were rigth new and clean when I wrapped the meat upp in them. Yeas thoose apples were the kind Isralesons gave me for x mas. Yeas Vera told me what a nice x mas present you had sent her and Verna got her purse sent her she have showed it to me and is tickled over it Ada told me Verna caries the purse with her where ever she goes.

Last Sunday I went upp to Preston on the 10 a m car I got upp at 5 30 a m to do the choers and take a bath and got ready I walked down to the spur I got a letter from Grace on Sarturday saying Darold was sick so I thot I do and see how they all were I had not been to see them since last September. Darold been very sick for about one week with a bad case of tonsilitis It scared Gus and Grace both so the[y] got the Dr for him in the middle off the nigth they were afraid it be diptheria as theere is a lot off it around but thank God it was not diptheria Darold had, Darold felt much better last Sunday he sat upp and ate a good dinner, but he sure looked peekied [peaked] and had feel away. I left of home at 4,55 p m the same day and so you see my visit was not very long.

I had good luck tho as when I got off the car here came Eldon Ashliman and his family from town in their car the[y] were going upp to Eldons Parents, they stopped and offered me a ride and I can assure you I was glad as I felt very tired, I got home at 6,15 p m F.O. been out home and had done the noon choers, your Dad been alrigth all day,

See Lovis did you get the yellow or purple nigthrobe and slippers to match you told me about? Theere has another new baby come to our ward it got born yesterday morning at 2 the Mother to is is Vilda Palmer but who the Father is is hard to tell the rumors goes like it migth be more than one  Emma came down x mas and gave us 2 quarts off honny and she cried and cried and I asked her what it is that made her feel so bad so she told both Pa and me about what they expeckted, I or we had never heard any thing about it before they sure got our sympathy, yesterday after school Emma sent La Von down to tell us Vilda had a little baby boy,

La Von said when she first came I got some good News to tell you I knew rigth away what had happened, after she was gone your Dad said, the[y] calls it good News and they seeme tickle over the baby, yeas so am I tickled that the[y] are making the baby welcome, at the same time, I feel so sorry for Vilda and I honestly pray she will bear her shame bravely it is a blessing she got a home and the baby to. they are blaming one off the Fenskeys at Wellsville to be the father but he denies, Emma said they are not going to bother him, your Dad said yeas good reason why.

I sent a small book to you last sarturday I know it is hard to understand it if you have not had the Holy Ghost confirmed upon you but if you are seeking for to know and read it with a prayerful hart I thaugth you would enjoy it Uncle Gus the bishop left it here when he was here last summer your Dad and I have sure enjoyed reading it.

Well it is time for me to go to milk and feed the calf his milk and feed the cows and come in and go to bed your Dad is buissy a studieng [studying] the scriptures he is now trying to compare the Old Testament in the Bible and your History off the World see if he can find out how manny years it was between the flood in the days off Noah and the birth off the Saviour. he sure got a job now that will last, I will finish this letter to morrow so goodnight my dearies.

Wednesday afternoon 2 15 p m

Just a few lines more and then I close I am afraid I am booring you to death with my writting, and clippings and books so I shall give you a rest for a week any way.  We had a very cold nigth last nigth the trees and bushes is all covered with frost and the snow is glittering like dimonds, the sleighbells are jingling and sleighes are passing, your br F.O. been here and helped us and had dinner he just left for 9th north and will take the 2 45 car to Logan he is sure a dear.

I got some questions to ask you, who is Mr & Mrs Canedo? who is Veola? and who is Helen? Did you go to Berkeley and did you see Mrs Alcott? I sent her a hankirchif and did she tell you? No I can not smell your soup a cooking but I can taste it Oh it is good we had brown beans for our dinner to day.

The calf is ballering for his dinner so I shall hurry now and close with Love and x ses give my love to Floyd

                                    Your Mother
