My dear baby Lovis.

Twenty eigth years ago this morning you and I had a little struggle it was soon forgoten. tho when I cuddle my little Visa to my breast after I kissed her and bade her welcome, then her Dad fed her ½ C milk and bread and so fort and so on and our sorrow was no more

I am afraid when you go to bed to nigth and have not heard from me to day you will have the blues and when you get this and read the beginning you will think that you are no longer that dear baby that came to us 28 years ago but you sure are. I am ashamed and sorry I have not written before but I thaugth every day this week I could see a change [chance] to go to town and bay [buy] what I been wanting to send you on your birthday but I know you will exuse me when I tell you that your Dad been sick in bed for the last 9 days so with him sick and then the choers I had no change [chance] to go to town your Dad is dressed and sitting upp to day I think he had the flu. I am as ususal a regular cow made and so my name is now Pauline instead off Caroline.

Grace and I have made a date for to go to Ogden to morrow to visit Arthur Franklin came out last evening after work to see how we were getting along and he said he will come out to morrow morning and stay untill we get back from Ogden,

I got two letter yesterday from Auntie Lovis saying she is comming to visit us next monday and stay for a few days so I got a lot off work to do so I shall ask you to plaese exuse me for to day and the first change [chance] I shall write and answer your letters and write a newpaper and tell you about our trip to Ogden and a lot of things, so I will close wishing you manny happy returns off this day, praying the Lord to bless you with health and strength and every blessing you wish for in rigthseaousness.

I remain your humble but true Mother I hope It vont be long before I can go to town. Give my love to Floyd and except a bushel for yourself. Lovingly Pauline Peterson.
