My dear
daugther Lovis
It is not my turn to write to
you but I will write to you any way. It is now 10 30 a m I been outside this
morning and cleaned 2 rows of raspberrys and before I do any more I shall rest
and while I rest I shall write a few letters. I hope you are all well, We rec
the Chronicle yesterday and we thank you ever so much. I guess it vont be long
now before Joe will be at San Fransisco. your Dad is feeling some better now
then he did when he first got back he does the most of the choers now and it
sure seeme a treat to me when I dont have the work and the responsibility of
the choers, I dont think tho that your Dad will ever be contended here in this
country but to be disscontended is nothing new to him or for him he can not be
bothered but like best to live be living on a snal skjuts [piggy back] like he have this winter that is
what he likes best in any country.
now my
dear Lovis I dont want you to say anything to Joe about monny for me for fare
or ticket as he has not got much in the bank now as he drawed $80 for paying
for to have his teeth fixed and then he gave Pa and I $30 for x mas so it would
take nearly all the monny he has if he should pay my fare so I will not have it
but if something urgent should come up or if I should get so very lonesome that
I can not endure why I shall pay my own ticket and will wait untill I have my
own monny to travel on. so plaese do not mention it to Joe or say anything
about it to him as I know now that he like to save his monny so he will have
some for himself at the time he gets out the sun is shining clear to day but we
got cold nigths and theere is thick ice on the water in the tub every morning.
Well it
is time to cook dinner so I shall close and will look for to hear from you
before long. Love to you and all and mimi x ses to from your Mother C.J.
Peterson.
