My dear
Grandson Arthur
I feel like writting a few
lines to you I got lonesome after the folks left last evening and I begun to
think why you did not come down home with them. I hope you are well. Grandpa
has not fell very well again this morning and I dont feel well either I am
washing to day but I know I vont get done to day. I thaugth you be down last
Sunday like you said you would I stayed home from meeting a purpose and looked
for you.
Dearest
my dearest Arthur plaese plaese take care when you are out so very late at
nigths not to get o to any troubble do not do any thing you be afraid to let
any body see or you be afraid to tell you know when a boy been to were [where]
you been the State got detecktives the[y] send out in dissguise to see what
thoose boys are doing and if they see them were [where] they should not be at
nigths or anytime the[y] nab them and tell them to come on, and plaese keep
company with boys that you can see is good and strong. and do not go to close
to girls as therein liyes [lies] danger, Pray to the Lord to make you strong
and to proteckt you in temptations so you would not fall I realaze the danger
the young poeple are in but if you watch as well as pray and take my and other
good folks advise you will be on the safe road.

exuse me my dear Arthur but I am so very worried over you all the time and I
knows if you would get in some troubble and I could not see you I know I would
get sick. think about how you felt when I went to see you in Ogden all alone
and I had to go home alone and you stood by the limit and oculd not go any
farther plaese plaese bevare, you wrote and said how bad you felt.

F.O. Been to Salt Lake to get examened and the Drs theere found out he got a
very bad head, and as he is as it were a federal man yet they told him they
knew all about him and the[y] told him he did not had any study work and the[y]
knew his where abouts all the time, they also have detecktives and that is why
the[y] knew all about him just like they do you. I just thaugth I tell you by
writting as I have not had much change [chance] to talk to you.
