My dear Baby Daugther Lovis

kettles and two buckets standing in the middle of the floor I am putting upp
peaches, in one bucket I got the whole peaches to be scalded in the other
bucket I put the waste in, in one pan I put the peaches I got masured and the
other pan I use for to peel the peaches in the one kettle I use for measurement
and the other kettle I put the soft parts of the peaches in to make in to
preserve, and the little shorthanded knife belongs alto to the above articles
(or mess). I got seven quarts done and in bottles and I got onother 7 or 8
quarts on the stove and soon ready to bottle. I got onother peck to do and then
I got all the peaches I want. Do you know I can not remember if I have wrote
more than one letter to you since you left but I know I am passed the appointed
day I should write or so I hope you will pardon me.
On Sept 9th
Grace sent me word to come to Preston to help
them during the fair so Darold and I left N. Logan spur at 6, 8 p m the same
day I stayed much longer than I escpeckted so I did not get home untill last
Wednesday afternoon then Gus & Grace took me home. On Tuesday evening
previous we went to the river to fish the party that went were Gus, Grace,
Darold, Irene, Clarence, Philis & myself the boys got 8 good size fish and
one big shark we camped by the river I stayed by the camp and made a big bonfire
and made coffee, I could not help but lauph at Grace she stood by the river
holding a fish pole out in the water to catch fish for at least two hours in a
stretch and did not got one fish so when she could smell the coffee she gave
upp and came to the camp and O if she did not look brown, she got so
disscourage she left the pole by the edge of the river thinking some fish migth
hook on so after we had launch the boys went and got her pole and theere were
no fish on her hook on yet and O dear I lauphed at her, while she stood and
poked at the hot coals with a long stick. I bet if you been with us and had
your Kodak it sure been worth while to take a picture of the whole. Clarence
cleaned The fish and Grace and I washed them as clean as we could by the river
and put them in a bucket then we cleaned them some more after we got home and
left them in a pan in the coolest place in the house over nigth next morning
Grace wrapped them upp in a towel and we took them home here. Grace fryed all
the fish and we all had a feast but Gus he eat Belony and coffee and theere was
enouph left for Pa and I for four more meal theere is a nice pis left and I
wish you had it. this above was a good home made sport and fish party I enjoyed
it, only of course I was nerveous when Darold and Irene went to close to the
water.
Last Sunday
we attended the funeral of Margareth Grandma she died during the first day of
the fair so Grace hired Jim to help here and theere and every where as
Margareth could not ocme and work untill last Wednesday afternoon.
Grace
intends to take Darold down to the Logan Tmeple next Tuesday to be babtized I
want to go to I am seeing about getting my recomend to day Your Dad seeme to be
some better now so he went to see the watermaster for to get water on or for
our pasture and so he said he would go to the Bishop on his way home see if I
be recommended to go to the Temple. I wonder if you have or had or will have
company from San Diego I recived a letter yesterday from Audrey saying her Dad

and to Petaluma. Audrey says in her letter they been gone for a week when she

bear hug for me and when you write tell me all about their visit.
Arthur is
still at Malad he is well and says he is getting along alrigth. It sure is to
bad about Joe being put back and not be a 1 class baker This is what he writes,
I had a little financial difficulty this pay day acont of a first class Baker
shipping over on this ship and were reduced back to second class on account of
not holding a permanent appointment as first class and he did so I had to go
back along with all the pay difference since I was appointed.
Dont you
think it is mean of a person to do such things but that is the way it goes in
this world dissapointments will come and no on can stop them or help it. Joe
migth tell you all about it himself
